Regulations on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling for ventilation units published

The "Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253/2014 of 7 July 2014 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC with regard to ecodesign requirements for ventilation units" and the "Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1254/2014 of 11 July 2014 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU with regard to energy labelling of residential ventilation units" have been published in the EU official Journal on 25th November 2014.

Ventilation units are often net savers of energy, as they can more than compensate their own electricity use with the energy savings achieved through heat recovery. The combined effect of both Regulations is expected to raise the aggregated savings of ventilation units by 1,300 PJ to 4,130 PJ in 2025.

The Regulations enter into force on 15th December 2014.
